Better late than never. With the weather turning cold today, I ran to Costco and did notice with the mask on, my face was warm...lol. HELLO ! Not ready for this cooler weather but nothing I can do about it. If the sun was shining it would be much better. Today, working in closet transferring winter clothes in and putting summer clothes out. It disheartens me... Terri asked me what I wanted for dinner and told her something warm. ha! More later...

Jackson Bonarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04777303119977707129noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2333595311852050281.post-58572313369481060802019-01-12T06:55:00.001-08:002019-01-12T06:55:16.415-08:00Wow. Another whirlwind week and not sure how they slip by so quickly. Tuesday we were visited and had dinner with out of town relatives. Always nice to see and catch up with.

Wednesday, friend from California was here and ended up at Jack Stack Freight House as a favorite BBQ place. He was amazed how nice it was in the 60's as he brought parka but never needed. Terri starting getting sick again on Thursday and down still today. One of Terri's cousins passed away on Wednesday from what appears to be an apparent heart attack. Only 47 years old !

Friday brought us one of our first major snow storms of the winter waking up this morning with 4-6 inches on the ground. It looks so pretty but I am going to have to get dressed pretty soon go out with the task of snow blowing the walks and drives and also do a couple of my neighbors that can't do it. Taylor on another note had an accident last night in this weather. Hit a slick spot and car spun out head on in to a pole. Fortunately no one was hurt but I am a bit perplexed as the airbags did not deploy!
I can tell just by the damage it will be totaled. Now the task of getting a new car. Well that's another week at a glance and more to come. Stay warm everyone!Jackson Bonarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04777303119977707129noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2333595311852050281.post-70736538937748982892019-01-05T20:15:00.001-08:002019-01-05T20:15:17.121-08:00WOW...what a day in Kansas City with 62 degrees. Yes, got Christmas lights down off the house and all put away. So nice to wear shorts all day long. Cleaned out the garage, took the car and washed it myself and polished the wheels and tires. Even had the roof all the way open and it was great. Going to be in the 50's almost all week so we can't complain about that.

Weather was so nice as cooked steaks on the grill this evening. Thought about taking the cover off the fire pit and lighting it but it was so nice, didn't even need to do that. Hope you had a great day and more tomorrow...Jackson Bonarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04777303119977707129noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2333595311852050281.post-39021396066321127272019-01-05T07:38:00.001-08:002019-01-05T07:38:36.075-08:00Happy New Year EveryoneHope everyone's year is off to a great start! I decided to after several years of being inactive to bring the blog back so let's see how it goes. Friday was a great day meeting with clients and vendors as the promise of the New Year hopefully looks bright despite what is happening politically. I am not even going into the political mode as it just frustrates me as well as a lot of other people, but I will say this government shut down has got to end. The people getting hurt the most are the people not receiving pay checks. And a couple things I did not realize about the shut down until recently, airplanes are not being inspected during the shut down and the longer this goes on, IRS tax refunds will be delayed and a lot of people and the economy count on this... Enough already, wall or no wall and that is all I will say.

Had lunch at a GREAT little spot on the map, Price Rite Market & Deli aka: "the little store" on Line Creek. That place is packed with bargains and everyday needs. Plus the people that own it cook and make their food daily! Yesterday's special for National Spaghetti Day was Spaghetti in red sauce with two house made meatballs, salad and bread and butter for only $5.99 ! They have daily specials and carry out a wide variety of Italian entrees all made fresh daily. Check it out and follow them on Facebook.

Happy Hour'd last evening at Summit Grill in Gladstone. Drinks very reasonable and small plates at happy hour more than a meal. Had an order of Street Tacos (3), 2 Sliders ( only .95 cents each) and 6 wings and we were stuffed. It is kind of confusing as the tall table in the bar are for the "dining room" and you have to be seated by hostess for those, so you must be at bar and sit at bar for Happy Hour. Parking is alittle crazy as in same building as apartments, so somewhat limited close to building. Check it out if you haven't as great addition to Northland...and packed on Friday evening.

Weather supposed to be nice tomorrow so maybe take down the Christmas lights outside? Jackson Bonarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04777303119977707129noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2333595311852050281.post-90756124048069222722013-11-12T07:20:00.000-08:002013-11-12T07:20:00.591-08:00Another week...Whether you had the day off yesterday or worked, we are now upon another week and closer to Thanksgiving and the holiday season. I can't believe all the articles I am seeing now about Black Friday and Cyber Monday...and then there are the stores that will now be open on Thanksgiving Day. I don't know about you, but Thanksgiving Day is a day all about Family...not shopping so you won't catch me out. I think everyone should veto the stores open that day, but I realize how bargain hungry we have all gotten.

I work with my business almost every day of the year including weekends as that's what it takes. Oh yes, I do have my play time, but I owe it to my clients to help them grow their business however they can and get them noticed. So if you are in need of a social media and public relations firm, contact me as we can't be beat for our service and our pricing is very competitive. Let us put you in the spotlight.

And on another note, I am over all the celebrities doing actually crazy and ironic things to be noticed. I guess that is all a part of the game, but I am not buying into it at all. I watched DWTS last night and America, are you crazy keeping Bill. While we all know this is a popularity contest, you let someone with talent go to keep a stiff ole guy who has no chance of winning, or does he. I am also over it as that should have never happened. If I was Bill, I would have stepped down as he was as in shock, just like the judges were that he was staying. And bravo to Jack Osborne, he has really come a long way and I am quite impressed.

Well, on to another day with appointments and helping my clients get noticed. What have you done for your clients lately? Have a great week !Jackson Bonarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04777303119977707129noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2333595311852050281.post-64161461068748553302013-11-07T17:58:00.000-08:002013-11-07T17:58:37.510-08:00Okay, it's been since July I have written. Why do I find it so hard to Blog? I will say it once again, I will try to do better as I really do have alot to say...My company is doing very well but there is always room for more. I didn't realize there were so many people out there that are in need of someone to take care of their social media for them and all of their press. If you know of anyone in need of our services, please send them my way or direct them to our website at www.kneticgroup.com to contact us. We may be looking for someone to join our team if we keep getting accounts which is great. Maybe only a part time gig at first but could develop into more...wishful thinking on my part.

So tell me what you think of our banks these days? I have had some interesting and enlightening experiences lately with banks and not to mention any names, I am still taking it all in. It seem while they are highly regulated, they still can pretty much do what they want to with your money...I think for now I will leave it at that.

And my friends at Diego's have a new opening date for their restaurant in Gladstone after some major set backs. It is scheduled to open Friday December 6th. Anyone want to have a cocktail with me there that night as surely going to be a "grand" opening and I have high expectations which they have assured me they will be meeting.

Three weeks from today...Thanksgiving and then the dreaded Black Friday. I will be staying in no matter how great the bargains are as I really don't need it that bad. Besides, my Pinot Nior will be calling me later that day.

Have a good one everyone and I will try, no promises to be better about Blogging. Who knows, if I try I might do it...Jackson Bonarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04777303119977707129noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2333595311852050281.post-11350652046607158622013-07-17T20:55:00.002-07:002013-07-17T20:55:44.457-07:00Well here we go again. I haven't written in a couple months and as you all know, it is not because I do not have anything to say. Today however, I was very excited to get a sneak peek at a new restaurant that is opening up North. Great new concept and it is going to look very sleek inside. I will be opening maybe second week of August and think it will be a fabulous addition to the Northland.

On another note, what is up with this hot weather. My A/C just keeps running and I am sure when I see the electric bill I will be running out of money...lol. I had a slight episode of heat exhaustion the past couple of days. I overdid it on Sunday as painted outside for 4 1/2 hours and then laid by the pool for an hour and a half...what was I thinking. Terri was good though and stopped and got me some Gatorade for the electrolights to charge me back up.

Busy day tomorrow with a couple more proposals. It is amazing how many people are just now realizing the impact that social media can have on their business. I was speaking with someone today in fact that said they did not realize the impact period social media could have until they saw some of the recent trial and pleadings...and just yesterday watch a television show one of the girls on the show was getting her cell phone taken away and was freaking as she was only 2 posts away from 900 pictures on Instagram...wow...
Happy Thursday early to everyone...Jackson Bonarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04777303119977707129noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2333595311852050281.post-49535621512759694902013-05-02T15:51:00.000-07:002013-05-02T15:51:00.126-07:00So great having Taylor home, but I am not sure how much more I can eat. Of course we have to go to all of her favorites and Terri is cooking up a storm of the requested dishes, so let's eat. Carmen's Cafe, Cascone's, Pizza Shoppe, Los Corales, not to mention fajitas on the grill, of course both chicken and beef, beef and noodles, and much much more.

And then today, it is in the 30's and snowing and just yesterday, I was mowing the lawn with my shirt off in the 70's. This weather has got to straighten out.

And on the business front, Knetic Group is launching a whole new series of business products. We are busy....Jackson Bonarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04777303119977707129noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2333595311852050281.post-18240749476936515892013-04-24T05:02:00.000-07:002013-04-24T05:02:33.778-07:00Wow the week is just rolling by. I was surprised by my cousin from Minnesota visiting the past couple of days and good to see him. However think he is the one responsible for bringing this weather as it snowed there yesterday. And I just bought all my plants on Sunday for the deck...what's up with that? We went out with him last evening to 54th Street and they have a great happy hour, not only on cocktails, but all full size appetizers are only $4.99 and their sliders are great and only $1.50 each. We were stuffed.

The youngest is getting ready to come home Thursday for a week. Haven't seen her since Christmas so will be happy to have her home for a while. Celebrating her birthday with the fam and friends. She has already given Mom several of her favorite dishes she wants while she is here and given Dad a few of her favorite restaurants, so looks like a lot of eating and drinking.

On another note, I have to vent about Home Depot. I was looking for a specific products and had already been to several stores to no avail and gone home see where I might call instead of running around to find it. I called Home Depot and sure enough they said they carried it and asked them if they had it in stock. Yes, sure do. So make a trip to Home Depot only to find out that they never checked the shelve, looked it up on computer and it showed they had it in stock, but in reality they had none. When I asked the clerk on the floor about it and explained the situation, he was very apologetic and said evidently just a computer error.
What wonderful customer service that the person I spoke with originally was too lazy to go look. Not to mention their phone system, after navigating or not my way thru their automated process, bring cut off twice, put on hold one time for 8 minutes (I like to see how long it takes) and hanging up and saying "do not put me on hold" before I got the wrong information. No wonder I never see that many people at Home Depot anymore since Lowe's opened....ummmm.

Well, got my coat out of the closet still today and hopefully will be putting it back in for good after today. Happy Wednesday everyone and stay warm...Jackson Bonarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04777303119977707129noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2333595311852050281.post-59593056851007173272013-04-21T09:05:00.001-07:002013-04-21T09:05:28.304-07:00Wow, what an action packed weekend and it's not over yet. Dinner at All Star Pizza in the old Tullaries on 64th Street. If you have never eaten there, definitely great pizza in their wood fired oven and the wings, some of the best we've ever had. Ate with some friend and of course a cocktail or two. A good time was definitely had by all and our server Paige, out of this world. Now the two owners of the place in my opinion, they need some lessons in customer service. They really have no business in running a restaurant as they tend to ignore their guests unless it is someone they know personally and then, oh it is ridiculous, but the staff and the food make up for their short comings.

Yard work yesterday and trying to get lawn in shape. It just is not doing as well this year as in past, but we're working on that. And with all the rain they are predicting this week, more grass seed and fertilizer down. Of course, as my neighbor reminded me yesterday, they more you put into it, the more I have to mow...lol

And last night, dinner with some friends at Port Fonda. We have heard nothing but great things about it and not your typical Mexican cuisine...and that is it. We tried a variety of appetizers and dishes, all excellent. But don't go expecting the typical tacos, burritos or whatever as it is not going to happen. We ordered a pitcher of house Margaritas which turned out to be a litre and much to my surprise when the check came...$36...wow! That was a surprise. I am certainly glad I didn't upgrade to the supreme Margaritas...Definitely worth going to and we will be back. Just a great fun place, but if you go on Friday or Saturday, make reservations...

Okay, Sunday morning, a bit lazy, but still alittle more work outdoors...so more later...Jackson Bonarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04777303119977707129noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2333595311852050281.post-11942150877195500972013-04-14T16:46:00.001-07:002013-04-14T16:46:24.234-07:00Wow, what is it with this blog, I just can't seem to get it to the top of my list, and keep saying I am, so making a concentrated effort starting today. Mowed lawn today for the first time of the season as suppose to rain rest of week...blah...

Went to Atrium's to visit Terri's aunt this afternoon, 96 and still doing well. Also found out my mother had a friend living there and tried to see her a couple times and missed her and finally caught up with her today. First thing she told me is that I looked exactly like my father. I haven't seen her in at least 25 years...so nice to catch up with her and know she enjoyed the visit also.

Now have you ever listed anything on eBay? I have been listing things for the past two days. My first experience. Wow, finally think I am getting the hang of it. Trying to de-clutter and get rid of things we don't need. So if you need something, ask me as probably have it.

Had dinner last night at El Patron with friends. Excellent as usual. If you haven't been there, definitely give it a try. Packed as usual but they do take reservations.

Well tomorrow is tax day...guess I will write some checks. Yes, waiting until the last minute. How about you?

Jackson Bonarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04777303119977707129noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2333595311852050281.post-46743498282236432492013-02-01T07:12:00.000-08:002013-02-01T07:12:34.808-08:00New happenings...New year and January almost over...and I didn't follow through with posting more often, so you know what, this is my February resolution. So Oklahoma turned out not to be OK. Enough already and heading back to the city and family and friends. Life is just too short. Made some fabulous friends there and will cherrish their friendship, but hey, the rest of the bull, I really don't need it. Will be taking on new project I am very excited about and a couple other things in the works. I should be nervous and apprehensive, but no, a burst of adreniline...self confidence. Hey, look at all the others that have taken chances and made it. I am moving forward.

And on our way thru Oklahoma City, we ate at a restaurant we discovered 6 month ago called 1492 at 1207 North Walker. In a trendy area but food is absolutely fabulous. They have a cream sauce on several different items that is to die for. If you are in the nighborhood, you must go there. You will not be disappointed. Stay tuned for more...
Jackson Bonarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04777303119977707129noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2333595311852050281.post-11387681692210859682012-11-06T19:34:00.000-08:002012-11-06T19:34:06.289-08:00I've been bad...Wow...I can't believe it has been since April I have written anything. Guess maybe I have been busy...but that is no excuse. So, I am going to try very hard to write more on what is happening in general. My thoughts, what is happening and how I feel about some things...

So first upon my list is the fact I am not happy with the health insurance industry. Especially in filling perscription drugs. So here is the latest, I have a script for a med and of course, the insurance company will not approve the name brand the doctor wrote, but if they do, they want me to pay an outragious co pay. Unacceptable, so I take the generic substitute and guess what, it is an inferior product, but I am held hostage now by the insurance company. And they say they have our best interests at heart.

Now here's another kicker...I just found out the insurance companies are limiting the amount of Viagra, Cialis, or Levetra you may get within a month regardless of what the doctors persripction says. So, in my mind it appears the insurance company is now limiting the number of times you may play within a month for those that really need it. Give me a break, now we have people scrutinzing our personal sex lives...OMG.

So the time change is here and getting darker earlier. Man does that make me tired quicker in the evening. I just get used to a routine and then have to change and get used to another. OK, that is enough for today, but will try to be back tomorrow. Have a good one !Jackson Bonarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04777303119977707129noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2333595311852050281.post-30429025724606951072012-04-27T04:50:00.000-07:002012-04-27T04:50:28.878-07:00Life is like a roller coaster...it has its ups and downs, it goes so fast at times you think you are loosing control, and then slows down so you can catch your breath, and then comes to a stop...but the thrill of it all makes you want to get back on and do it all again...

So here I am in Oklahoma with a great new exciting job with many challenges already presented to me and you don't know which way to go at times. But you look at it like a fruit tree, you reach and pick the low hanging fruit first and handle those projects and get them out of the way, and then start reaching for the tougher and more difficult ones, the new tasks at hand. Before you know it, your basket starts filling up with the accomplishments you have made and you can see your efforts paying off.

It's an exciting time at Fort Sill Apache Casino with a new 3.5 Star hotel under construction scheduled to be unveiled in just alittle over 90 days. I have an incredible staff that is more than willing to make their contributions and just need guidance. And for those of you who know me, this is my passion. Working with people, mentoring and showing them the paths and opportunities ahead of them. Working together to achieve the goals of the organization. It is an exciting time and I am privileged to be a part of it all, seeing the accomplishments we can make together as a team.

Lawton is a most unique town with the Army base here. Soldiers everywhere and if you can imagine any chain restaurant, it is here. But they only have one Starbucks...ummm...what's that about? So my culinary experiences so far have been Outback, Red Lobster, Sonic, and then throw in a couple local places, Sunshine Omelets, Gerts, Mike's, and Meers in the Wichita Mountains. Not alot of unique dining choices, but you go with the flow and take what the city has to offer. Or, which I have done on a few occasions, you cook for yourself. And even then, sometimes you don't always know what you're getting.

Exploring the local terrain is always fun, looking and finding what is out there so you don't miss anything and taking it all in. Life is too short and you don't want to miss out on anything, so just go for it and enjoy what it has to offer. That's what I am doing and relishing the time spent in returning to the city and when the family comes down. Sharing those experiences and enjoying life as it comes.

So until next post, I am enjoying my experiences and looking forward to new ones with family and good friends, both old and new. As they help make it all worth while...Jackson Bonarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04777303119977707129noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2333595311852050281.post-71209737700291778602011-12-23T10:35:00.000-08:002011-12-23T10:35:45.516-08:00So Much...has happened over the past few weeks I keep with grand intentions to create and maintain this blog...but have no fear it will sustain. I find it hard to believe Christmas is yet again on us. With the economy on the rebound in retail sales, I find it ironic almost everyone I know is cutting back this year but yet its on the rebound. Ummmm. Guess we are all running in different circles. I really don't mind cutting back as I find that we have put more thought into gifts instead of just buying.

And still I have this fascination for talk radio. I just can't get over how many intelligent people there are out there when they have the chance to speak on the radio...OMG...it is scary honestly. I do however agree that all of Congress needs to be voted out and replaced. When are Americans going to wake up and realize they can do something, get rid of them all in their cush political jobs and get some new blood in there. They can't do any worse...not turning this into a political outlet, but come on. Haven't you had enough?

And let's talk about customer service...I was at Sam's last evening and man, I thought the employee's were exceptionally friendly for this time of year. The guy that checked me out was talkative and very polite. A nice change. And to all, more later...Jackson Bonarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04777303119977707129noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2333595311852050281.post-83499042220669279332011-12-07T12:20:00.000-08:002011-12-07T12:20:05.847-08:00Talk Radio and more...Over the past few days, I have been listening more to talk radio and become somewhat fascinated and annoyed at the same time. While everyone has an opinion, it seems ironic that everyone also has the solution, but then I shouldn't be surprised. While I must admit I do agree with some of the commentaries I have heard, some of the solutions have been so right winged and out there, impossible to instigate. The upcoming elections are taking center stage and rightfully so based upon present economic conditions and as you can imagine, opinions from everyone on everything. The one thing that seems to be consistent with all the people expressing their opinions is the fact our Congressional elected officials for the most part are all milking the system. They are not watching their retirement dollars shrink, not concerned about their health care benefits, nor social security and how they will live after they retire from office. If only we all could be so lucky. Unfortunately, I do not have the funds to run for office nor most of my friends. That doesn't mean we are not just as qualified as those in office, but we do not have the political pull to get there. Maybe then I wouldn't have to worry about retiring one of these days or my own health care. The system really does need to be changed, but how... It doesn't matter whether you like Obama or not, he did not create all the mess we are in now. I certainly would not want to be in his shoes. But do you really think anyone else truly has a chance to beat him in 2012. Who would truly want to step into this position now and rumor has it, the Republicans really do not want a person in that office the next 4 years just in case the economy tanks further...encouraging don't you think. As for myself, it's business as usual and I will be watching and listening to everything. I will only support those candidates that I feel can make a difference and I will certainly be speaking out. That is what we all need to do, so what are you waiting for...Jackson Bonarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04777303119977707129noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2333595311852050281.post-92187174476336429952011-12-02T09:39:00.000-08:002011-12-02T09:39:41.765-08:00UnemploymentSo news today of the unemployment rate for November decreasing is causing quite a stir. Stock market reacting favorably and appears news being well taken. The fact that 120,000 new jobs have been filled is fantastic news, but the fact that 320,000 people just gave up looking for work, took social security or whatever is sad. While these figures are out there, it seems no one is really taking it seriously except it is just a part of the economic statistics to be followed. Ummmm.

And I have been listening to more talk radio. OMG, I did not realize the world was so full of experts on every topic. Why don't we have these people in positions of power and the world would have no issues. I did not realize I was surrounded by such greatness. And to think all this time people have been worrying about things that could have been resolved so easily. Makes me anxious to just get back into the car so I can listen more.

More to come so stay tuned...Jackson Bonarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04777303119977707129noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2333595311852050281.post-39554920034060302792011-12-01T09:49:00.000-08:002011-12-01T09:49:00.468-08:00December OneHere it is, December 1st, a monumental day, at least it is for Terri and I...32 years of marriage. My how time flies and how did we sustain that many years. Actually, it wasn't hard when you have a unbelievable partner to take on all the challenges that life throws your way...and is still throwing everyday. Ok, so I got sick over the Thanksgiving holiday, stuffy noise, can't breath, you know the kind, and now, I shared it with Terri, and she wishes I didn't, so looks like we will be taking a rain check on dinner. Anyway, I am going to work at this blog and see how it goes. I certainly hope you will tune in and I will try to keep things light and lively that will make you want to read...only 23 more shopping days !Jackson Bonarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04777303119977707129noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2333595311852050281.post-47263696052016384682011-11-21T11:39:00.000-08:002011-11-21T11:39:21.334-08:00Too Long...My original intent was to start a blog focusing on Kansas City Restaurants as we are constantly eating out and wanted to relay our experience. So much is happening in other areas of our lives as well as others, I have decided the best way to utilize this blog is to make it informative with relevant content for all. So as of today, that is what you are getting. Tell your friends and neighbors to subscribe as you may never know what you are going to read. Interesting facts I promise you that...Jackson Bonarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04777303119977707129noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2333595311852050281.post-73696879207494265412011-05-11T04:41:00.000-07:002011-05-11T04:41:23.265-07:00Cascone's AgainA friend called and asked if we would join him at Cascone's for dinner which in our book was a no brainer. Always great food and an enjoyable evening. But what is it about some restaurant owners and their wives that think they are doing you a favor by seating you and serving you dinner? Did I miss something along the line somewhere or shouldn't this be the other way around? I certainly wouldn't give the hostess, and in this case a family member any kudos for personality, friendliness, or making you feel welcome. A smile certainly would not have hurt, but don't think she has done that in years.

We were seated in the bar as they had some "private party" in the entire dining room. Ummm, but okay. The bartender was the only server in the entire area and needless to say, she was running as in a marathon. Relatively speaking, she did a very good job in keeping up with all the patrons at the bar and serving all the tables that were almost now full in the bar due to "this private party". They actually could have used another server on the floor in the bar if they knew they had this event, but hey, guess the party planning department wasn't communicating with the staffing department.

Dinner came and as usual, was done in true Cascone style...delicious!

Shrimp Fettuccine, Chicken Lemonada, and Chicken Spedini. The only thing that could have been improved upon was the Spedini which was what our friend was having and said it could have used a tad bit more sauce, but otherwise a crowd pleaser.

Now here is what I don't get...we see the owner come on the floor and gravitate to only one table, evidently someone he knows and asks how dinner is and if everything is alright which was overheard by other tables. Stops and has a bit of small talk with them and when that is finished turns and heads directly, do not pass go, straight line back to the kitchen without looking or speaking with anyone else. Wouldn't be just a common curiosity to stop at a few other tables and inquire as to how their dinner was, if everything was alright, blah blah blah. Now don't know about you, but made me feel as "his friends" visit was the only one that counted and my money wasn't appreciated. So, while our friendly server did a very good job in keeping up with everything she had on her plate and ours, good food and of course good company, it will probably be a while before we go back just because of the owner's attitude. Hey, maybe you think that is trivial, but there are alot of restaurants in Kansas City who do make you feel welcome, and if Cascone's owners want to cater to their friends, hey let them. Guess their friends money is more important than mine so will be taking it elsewhere for a while. Let me know your thoughts...
Jackson Bonarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04777303119977707129noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2333595311852050281.post-71572682934809475132011-05-07T03:52:00.000-07:002011-05-07T03:52:54.277-07:00BRGR...Just haven't got the hang of this blogging yet. Keep thinking about it, but that seems as far as I get. So I am going to make a concentrated effort to post more often as really do have some things to let people know.

So last night, we went to BRGR for dinner. We have been there a couple times before and I am not disappointed in the quality and taste of their burgers! Absolutely fantastic! Our friends had not been there before and were true Blanc admirers, and well, think they have definitely changed their minds.

While we would have enjoyed sitting in their open air area, when we arrived at 8:30pm, it would have still been a wait of 20-30 minutes, so opted to eat inside with no wait. Dinner was definitely a "hats off experience". Now service, ummmmm, after we sat down, we waited for at least 10 minutes and finally had to flag someone down and ask where our server was and low and behold, it was him. Well, that didn't start our relationship off too well as now he had shall we say a chip on his shoulder...but never fear, we did not let this spoil our evening and we overcame. Rather disappointing that our service level had not been as good as on previous visits to BRGR, but hey, it was adequate at best.

So next time you are in the neighborhood of Corinth Square on Mission Road, definitely stop in and grab a burger from BRGR. You will not be disappointed.Jackson Bonarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04777303119977707129noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2333595311852050281.post-6152384799230678042011-03-26T05:49:00.000-07:002011-03-26T05:49:15.930-07:00What Direction to Go...With so many things to do in the city, so many places to go, so many restaurants to dine at, and so many other things happening, the question now becomes should I focus on just one topic or give a broad overview of happenings and interesting stuff? For example, Jazzoo 2011, voted Kansas City's best charitable event of the year continuously is just alittle over 60 days away. Do you have your tickets yet? If not go to http://www.jazzookc.org/ to purchase. Jackson Bonarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04777303119977707129noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2333595311852050281.post-36481407927003652732011-03-22T18:25:00.000-07:002011-03-22T18:25:04.036-07:00A night at Cascone's...and what can I say but great. My wife had the Chicken Lemonade, always a favorite and I had the special of the night, Frank's Pasta (but on the menu they left the ' off) anyway, prawns in a light white wine and garlic sauce with tomatoes and spinach...yummmmmm ! Bread and salad aways a highlight. Service, very good but she seemed alittle rushed and on Tuesday, not really crowded. And best part about it, used my KC Originals card and got DOUBLE POINTS !! Go for it. You won't be disappointed.Jackson Bonarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04777303119977707129noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2333595311852050281.post-82453207511262446092011-03-22T15:59:00.000-07:002011-03-22T15:59:20.213-07:00Kansas City RestaurantsSo I have decided since we spend so much time eating out, why not tell you what is good and what is great, and yes, it works the other way also, what isn't worth your time. So tonight, we are going to an old favorite...Cascone's. Will let you know later how it is as we haven't been there since Valentine's Day...ahhhh. How romantic.Jackson Bonarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04777303119977707129noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2333595311852050281.post-8132256088519074552011-02-01T09:03:00.000-08:002011-02-01T09:03:59.036-08:00Snow DayCan you believe this weather? And I can't believe how many businesses are actually closing...a good day to work at home and oh yeah, maybe later, go out and shovel, and then shovel some more. This will be a productive day for me.Jackson Bonarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04777303119977707129noreply@blogger.com0
